CAP-ACADIE, NB, June 27, 2023 - Wine, beer, spirits and gastronomy enthusiasts are looking for unique experiences and culinary discoveries that awaken their senses. That's why the Cap-Acadie Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce its newest initiative, l'Escapade Cap-Acadie.
This major new event in the Maritimes will take place from September 14 to 16, 2023. This first edition of a weekend festival will bring together close to 5,000 enthusiasts around their shared passion. Fans will be able to sample a variety of products and succulent dishes, taking their taste buds on a journey around the world, in an enchanting setting: Aboiteau Beach. One of Canada's most renowned beaches, this tourist attraction has won awards for its beauty and environmental commitment, and will be the setting for this exceptional festival.
The Escapade Cap-Acadie program includes wine and craft beer discovery workshops, led by experienced, bilingual sommeliers. Gastronomic evenings prepared by renowned chefs will allow you to savour exquisite dishes, while large on-site tastings will transport the public from one continent to another.
THE GREAT ESCAPADE... 3 GREAT EVENTS!
During The Great Escapade tastings, you'll have the chance to discover vineyards, craft beers and spirits from near and far. A minimum of 15 kiosks will be on hand to let you taste their products, as well as enjoy a specially designed bite to match the drink.
The Aboiteau Beach site will be completely refurbished to give it a terrace and patio feel. The lounge atmosphere, day and night, will allow the public to relax, socialize and "travel", before partying the night away.
The main events will take place on Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., then on Saturday from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. and again from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
SPOKESPEOPLE... SIMPLY EXQUISITE!
The Cap-Acadie Chamber of Commerce likes to organize its events in style. Sonia Jalbert, renowned sommelier and founder of Vinspire, will be the spokesperson for the 1st edition of Escapade Cap-Acadie. Her passion for the culinary arts and her expertise in the restaurant business make her an ideal ambassador for this unique event.
"I accepted, without hesitation, to be the spokesperson for the first edition of Escapade Cap-Acadie. To offer this kind of epicurean event in the region, in such an enchanting setting as Aboiteau Beach, is quite surreal. We'll have a lot of fun discovering products from here and elsewhere, while enjoying some excellent bites along the way," says Sonia Jalbert, sommelier and spokesperson for Escapade Cap-Acadie.
As cuisine will be an important part of the event, Escapade Cap-Acadie went searching for a notable chef. Chef Olivier Godbout, with over 24 years' experience in the kitchen, will be on hand for the weekend. Former chef and co-owner of La Planque restaurant in Quebec City, Olivier Godbout is renowned for his creativity and culinary expertise. His participation in the TV show Les Chefs, as well as his columns on Salut Bonjour Weekend, have made him a firm favourite with the public.
Together, they'll concoct a variety of appetizers with a wine pairing that you'll be able to savor during the presentation. The two acolytes will perform on the outdoor deck of Aboiteau Beach during the grand tastings on Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. and on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
MUSIC... A GOOD TIME!
Music will play an important role throughout this first festival, starting with The Great Escapade tastings. During the tastings, you'll have the chance to enjoy the talents of local musicians and songwriters who will alternate on stages set up across the tasting site, rotating every 60 minutes.
On Friday evening, a DJ night under the tent promises to keep the public dancing into the night, to the bewitching rhythm of lively beats. Talented DJs from the region will be on hand to keep the crowd moving with a selection of the best hits, from the greatest to the newest. Artist line-ups and tickets go on sale August 1, 2023.
Finally, it's the Saturday night that no one in the region would want to miss! Don't miss Le Beer Garden, taking place on the evening of September 16. You'll be able to dance to the rhythms of Beauxmont, the sensation of the moment, and Big Bad Party Band, followed by the legendary performance of Réveil to close the evening in style.
"This is unequivocally one of the Cap-Acadie Chamber of Commerce's biggest projects in nearly a year," says Anthony Azard, Chief Executive Officer of the Cap-Acadie Chamber of Commerce. "Organizing this kind of event will generate substantial economic spin-offs for our businesses and the region, in addition to offering our members marketing opportunities for their businesses."
LOOKING FOR PARTNERS
A festival of this scale requires the support of the region's businesses. President and CEO Anthony Azard invites all interested businesses to contact the Cap-Acadie Chamber of Commerce today to inquire about sponsorship opportunities.
"If you are a member of the Cap-Acadie Chamber of Commerce, you have the advantage of seizing a marketing opportunity with a higher return on investment than other events. To ensure the success of Escapade Cap-Acadie, we need your support," pleads the organization's CEO.
The full program will be unveiled in early August on the Cap-Acadie Chamber of Commerce's social media channels. Ancillary events in the various restaurants will be announced at the same time.
